Abstract
Assessments shape and influence the behaviour of students to a higher degree than perhaps teaching. Appropriately leveraging assessments can help motivate student engagement and learning. To do this, a variety of innovative formative assessments should be employed as well as contextualised summative assessments. Evidence collected from module evaluation suggests students respond well to innovative and contextualised assessments and teaching.
