Abstract

Oological characteristics of the Minsk and Kiev populations of the Black-headed Gull Larus ridibundus were compared with the data previously obtained for the Kharkov population. Among three populations studied, the Kharkov one was characterised by the least variability of measured and colorimetric traits. There was a negative correlation between egg size parameters and ESBOD. Significant differences between populations were observed for the traits EL, EW, and EM. Distinct differentiations between and within populations were revealed with regard to relationships of color components (1). In the Kiev population, increased variability of egg shell pigmentation characters was found. Literature: 1. Krivosheyev, M.I., & A.K. Kustarev, (1990): [Colour measurements].
