Abstract

In this interactive workshop attendees explored how the creative, process-focused principles of design pedagogy, such as iteration, prototyping, critique, and reflection, can enrich assessment practices across disciplines. Through hands-on activities, attendees reimagined one of their own assessments, experimented with rapid prototyping, and exchanged constructive feedback with peers. At the end of the session, attendees had an understanding of design pedagogy approaches and how these can be adapted for non-design disciplines; they were equipped with practical ideas as to how to integrate design pedagogy into their own assessment approaches to enhance the learning experience; and, had a plan for a re-designed assessment that they could apply in their own discipline.
