Abstract

In this interactive workshop you will explore how the creative, process-focused principles of design pedagogy, such as iteration, prototyping, critique, and reflection, can enrich assessment practices across disciplines. Through hands-on activities, you’ll have the chance to reimagine one of your own assessments, experiment with rapid prototyping, and exchange constructive feedback with peers.

By the end of the session, you will understand design pedagogy approaches and how these can be adapted for non-design disciplines; be equipped with practical ideas as to how to integrate design pedagogy into your own assessment approaches to enhance the learning experience; and, have a plan for a re-designed assessment that you can apply in your own discipline..
