Abstract
Während die Chemie der Gruppe 2 hauptsächlich durch die natürlich vorkommende Oxidationsstufe +2 ihrer Elemente bestimmt wird, ist in den letzten zwei Jahrzehnten eine wachsende Anzahl von Erdalkalimetallverbindungen mit niedriger Oxidationsstufe erschienen.
