Abstract
This is an invited contribution to a volume, the contributors having been selected for their international esteem, and for their commitment to an interdisciplinary approach. My contribution is co-authored with Jessica Young, who is currently reading for a PhD at BSIS and was at the time an MA student. The article makes an original contribution to the analysis of political discourses of ‘globalisation’ by contrasting it with the discourse on the ‘war on terror’ and subjects both terms to a time-series analysis for both quantitative and qualitative mentions in major newspapers.
