Abstract
Hybrid Simulation (HS) has been presented in many journals, and healthcare has been one of the domains that benefit from the growth in HS literature. System Dynamics and Discrete Event Simulation (DES) are the most popular combination, with fewer studies combining DES and Agent-Based Simulation (ABS). This review identified 13 articles, which proposed a framework for a DES and ABS, regardless of the field. Comparisons were made between those papers and the PartiSim methodology to explore the extend of stakeholder participation and to identify gaps in the current HS framework literature. Given those gaps, we propose a life cycle framework for DES-ABS models in the healthcare system based on PartiSim.
