Abstract

Dr Barbara Adewumi and SSPR Diversity Mark’s intern officer Patrice Mighton appeared on a topical podcast series hosted by Eastern Arc research consortium including staff and students from East Anglia university and Essex university on the topic of Challenging Racism and Decolonising the Curriculum. We discuss the theoretical and the practical and draw on our research backgrounds examining a wide range of issues around race, justice and inequality, as well our experiences as educators. Kent, has advocated for change within our institution, working to address entrenched notions of privilege and identity. The discussions explored barriers we have faced, the successes we have achieved, and the challenges (and opportunities) that lie ahead.
