Abstract

Schools within the University of Kent have taken up the challenge to ‘do the work’ and review reading lists as a step towards decolonising the curriculum. Staff representing the School of Sociology Social Policy and Social Research (SSPSSR) and in the School of European Culture and Languages (SECL) present the award-winning Diversity Mark project toolkit – a cross-disciplinary, student-staff collaboration between students from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds, academics and library services addressing the lack of diversity and the persistent dominance of Global North knowledge in reading lists and the curriculum.
