Abstract
As a result of this presentation/session, the delegates will have a broader understanding:The characteristics critical to the professionalisation of occupations. Consider who influences the dental sector and how this influence is achieved and maintained.Reflect on how the characteristics of professionalisation and are relevant to autonomy and empowerment in respect to their own area of practice and the broader dental sector.The aim: The intention of the presentation is to provide delegates with a deeper understanding of the role education, in all it’s forms, has in the professional journeys of those who go on to achieve elite positions in the dental sector.Objectives:Identify: the link between on-going study and the key features of the professionalisation of occupations. Discuss: the value of Higher Education study to dental occupations.Apply: The principle of Higher education, research, to the context of on-going journey of professionalising the dental occupations.
