Abstract

Dyspraxia is a neurological impairment of the organization of movements. In this paper, we present a process for automated diagnosis of developmental dyspraxia in children using dynamic attributes from Beery's VMI test drawings. The test environment is identical to the conventional VMI tests and all procedural modifications are transparent to the children. Empirical investigations reveal interesting results despite limited data availability. This study has exposed limitations of the conventional VMI analysis and is capable of producing much richer analysis even when operated by non-experts.
