Abstract
This is a contribution to the rethinking populism series of openDemocracy (with Chantal Mouffe, Didier Fassin, and James Schneider):
https://www.opendemocracy.net/en/rethinking-populism/
In response to Mouffe's articulation of a 'left populism' which is to rally behind a Green democratic transformation, I suggest that the proper Left alternative to the class struggle is not that of a Left populism understood as radicalization of democracy, but subverting capitalism by mobilizing an even wider and more diverse anti-capitalist front.
