O Cinema chega às Escolas: a importância do Plano Nacional de Cinema

Nowadays, we live in a world that’s flooded by images. However, people not always reflect about what they are seeing. Cinema has its own language, that is often appropriated by other audiovisual media, and that can be used to manipulate the spectator. This makes very important the existence of projects to Educate the Eyes – to teach Cinema, what it is, how it works, how is a film made, how could it be understood and so on.

The Portuguese Cinema Nacional Plan was created in this context of a sociaty that has images everywhere and has the goal of creating new publics, new spectators more capables of understanding Cinema. It’s about this plan that this dissertation talks about. In order to achieve our purpose, we started by analizing the existent Literature about this topic and moved to interviews with the main characters of this project, while trying to understand what can be done to improve it.
