Abstract

We present resistivity measurements on high-purity single crystals of \(Sr_2RuO_4\) and \(Sr_3Ru_2O_7\) under hydrostatic pressure. The \(Sr_2RuO_4\) samples have an ambient pressure superconducting transition temperature \(T_s ≈1.5 K\). From the rate of decrease of the superconducting transition temperature in \(Sr_2RuO_4\) with pressure, we deduce a critical pressure of the superconducting phase of the order of 80 kbar. The decrease of the T\(^2\)-coefficient of the resistivity with increasing pressure in both materials suggests a magnetic cross-over at negative rather than at positive pressures.
