Abstract

This paper describes the structure and aims of a new positive behavioural support (PBS) tool designed to promote the emotional and behavioural wellbeing of children with intellectual and developmental disability (IDD) in school settings. The emotional and behavioural development within education (EmBeDEd) tool aims to support students in the development of key skills and experiences associated with wellbeing and quality of life and reduce the risk of challenging behaviour and emotional difficulties. We outline the background, underlying rationale and key features of the EmBeDEd tool.
