Abstract
A new algorithm for the recursive infinite, symmetric exponential filter (ISEF) edge detector is presented. The proposed algorithm is a cascade of ISEF and a 2 x 2 gradient mask, which will outperform the ISEF (Shen-Castan) edge detector in noise robustness, Experimental evaluations, indicate a remarkable improvement in locating edges in very noisy images
