Abstract

This chapter gives an overview of “ARGENT” (“Advanced Radiotherapy, Generated by Exploiting Nanoprocesses and Technologies”), an ongoing international Initial Training Network project, supported by the European Commission. The project, bringing togetherworld-leading researchers in physics, medical physics, chemistry, and biology, aims to train 13 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) whose research activities are linked to understanding and exploiting the nanoscale processes that drive physical, chemical, and biological effects induced by ionizing radiation in the presence of radiosensitizing nanoparticles. This research is at the forefront of current practices and involves many experts from the respective scientific disciplines. In this chapter, we overview research topics covered by ARGENT and briefly describe the research projects of each ESR.
