Abstract
This workshop will be a ‘hands-on’ workshop for people to explore their own personal identities and what autism means to them. This will be a flexible workshop where people can write, draw, or compile aspects of their own personal stories. Whether an individual wishes to write a poem, create a collage, or express themselves in whatever way, this will be explored. Individuals will also be asked prior to Autscape if they wish to bring photographs or things which are meaningful to them to help create their stories/fragments/expressions of identity.
This activity will lead on to an ongoing activity to proceed throughout the remainder of Autscape of a collective timeline of autism/autistic culture and the Autscape community. This will need a wall or room, where people can place information through ‘tac’ to this timeline. Thus people can add to the timeline when it suits them to do so. Everyone would be asked not to stick anything over the top of anyone else’s contribution to the timeline.
