Abstract
Dagens virkelighed er kompleks, og der er bred enighed om, at international politik i højere grad vil involvere nye, og forskellige internationale aktører, der hver især forventer indflydelse i de store globale spørgsmål, men som ikke nødvendigvis deler de værdier, der understøtter den nuværende liberale orden. Paradoksalt nok er det blevet almindeligt at hævde, at de mange forandringer og kriser er udtryk for, at det internationale system er ved at vende tilbage til en form for global multipolaritet, som minder om det system, der var fremherskende i det 19. århundrede.
