Abstract

We have observed many relatively sharp lines in the luminescence of single crystals of C60, identifying three zero-phonon lines from singlet states. Reducing the intensity of the laser beam enhances a set of peaks between 11 400 and 12 000 cm-1 (1.41-1.49 eV), and we suggest that they originate from triplet states. © 1994.
