Abstract
An all optical Faraday current sensor using semimagnetic crystals is presented. The configuration of the sensor allows it to increase probe sensitivity. It is designed to perform common mode rejection without resorting to high cost optical and electronic FR components. Pulsewidths of 4 ns have been used ensuring good separation of adjacent pulses at 10 ns, which represents a good compromise cost-performance.
