Abstract
Collates information on recent finds and their implications for the distribution of Lyon ware in Britain and Wales, and also for its frequency in early Roman assemblages. Four trends are identified: the probability that imports continued into the Flavian period; the trend towards beakers in preference to cups towards the end of the importing period; the close association of its distribution with the deployment of the Roman army; and its rarity, despite an extensive distribution. Includes Dodds, Damaris.
