Abstract
This article discusses teaching Portuguese as an FL through film, considering the acquisition of competences proposed by the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFLs). The study explores an activity using the film Central Station, conducted with a group of fourteen learners at B2 (‘upper-intermediate’) level in a British university context. Through the activity, difficulties and contributions to the learners in a multilingual context were discussed. The contributions of the study concern the relationship between the competences suggested by the CEFLs and the different levels of PFL
