Abstract

Using accurate large-signal time domain models for a 3-electrode DFB laser and its drive circuitry it has been demonstrated that realisable circuits can be designed to provide chirp-suppressed IM or intensity fluctuation suppressed FM over a broad bandwidth. The work is currently being extended to higher frequency systems.
