Abstract

By combining an electrical parasitics model and a laser equivalent circuit model in a microwave circuit simulator, nonlinear laser transmitter operations are simulated. Harmonic generation through gain switching a laser is used as an example of nonlinear operation to experimentally verify the utility of the simulation approach. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
