Abstract
32 undergraduates watched a videorecording of a police interrogation of a woman who alleged she had been raped and were divided into pairs. In the individual–dyadic (ID) condition, Ss individually and then as a dyad free-recalled the interrogation, answered questions about it, and gave ratings of confidence; the order was reversed in the dyadic–individual condition. Dyadic recall was similar in the 2 conditions; however, testimonial validity was superior in the ID condition. Individual confidence was a better predictor of dyadic decision than truth.
