This is a

very common bacterial infection of the throat and one for which there are numerous possible treatments, including a wide range of antibiotics. Funding for the survey was provided by Pfizer Ltd, manufacturers of azithromycin ("Zithromax"), an antibiotic that has recently been approved for use in children.
