Abstract
This section of the report presents the results of Consultations with representatives of nursing and medical professional bodies and other selected professions on research priorities in the field of community nursing. The results from these Consultations were considered together
1 with conclusions from the Literature Review and the Survey of Chief Nursing Offfcers of District Health Authorities in England. and information available to us on studies in progress.
Two areas emerged as having clear research priority. These are:-
Management arrangements for community nurses within primary health care teams
The broad area of roles in community nursing
The way that research in these two priority areas might be tackled is briefly discussed
