Abstract
It is our hypothesis that many currently used national indicators of injury occurrence are misleading.Outside of our previous work, we have found no tools to validate existing or newly proposed indicators. The purpose of our programme of work is to create a formal validation tool for injury indicators, and then to use it to assess commonly used indicators. The scope of this work is limited to indicators of the occurrence of injury.
