Abstract
The paper provides an introductory survey of Explanation-Based Learning (EBL). It attempts to define EBL's position in Al by exploring its relationship to other Al techniques, including other sub-fields of machine learning. Further issues discussed include the form of learning exhibited by EBL and potential applications of the method.
