Abstract

Developments since 1987, of photoinitiators for curing pigmented films, pbotoinitiators which respond to visible radiation (eg. from CW lasers), water compatible and cationic photoinitiators are reviewed. Mechanistic aspects of these reactions are discussed. Some new types of photoinitiators which have been introduced eg. anionic photoinitiators, bifunctional pbotoinitiators and those containing peresters are also described.
