Abstract
New directions in eighteenth-century studies share a global optic: 1) postcolonial approaches, such as the study of the Black Atlantic; 2) ecological approaches (the 'green' revolution); 3) approaches grounded in histories of feeling and the marketplace, or affects and economics.
