Abstract
Rather general models are proposed for infinite porous systems with permeable walks, or restrictive connecting channels, at various levels of sophistication from macroscopic, through mixed macroscopic and microscopic, to thoroughly microscopic. The effective diffusion coefficient tensor for typical liquids in these model pore systems has been measured by computer simulation and explained by simple theories.
