Abstract

This paper describes the use of dynamically programmed scanning in the automation of the acquisition and processing of data using a quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometer. The programs written to carry out the fixed-ion tandem mass spectrometry experiments and to automate the production of the three-dimensional graphs are described. The use of three-dimensional graphs to display familial data is also discussed, with examples of spectra given.
