Abstract
We review classical BPS monopoles, their moduli spaces, twister descriptions and dynamics. Particular emphasis is placed upon symmetric monopoles, where recent progress has been made. Some remarks on the role of monopoles in S duality and Seiberg-Witten theory are also made.
