Abstract
How should we view the sudden arrival in South Korea's embassy in Beijing of the man credited with masterminding North Korea's ideology? Are there splits in the secretive political world of Pyongyang, is the state about to break apart, and could this be the best opportunity to reunite the two Koreas?
