Abstract

A set of experiments that employ rapid serial visual presentation have clarified the time course of selective attention by identifying what has come to be called the attentional blink. Many theoretical explanations of the phenomenon and associated informal models have been advanced. However, until recently, no formal computational model had been developed. This paper responds to this limitation by constructing a prototype neural network model of the blink.
