Abstract
Precision Teaching has a long history of helping practitioners optimize skill development for individuals with diverse abilities and needs across multiple domains. Decades of real-world application have yielded valuable insights into human behavior, along with a small but growing body of evidence demonstrating its effectiveness. However, Precision Teaching has not gained widespread adoption and is frequently overshadowed by one of its major discoveries: fluency. This chapter provides a concise overview of Precision Teaching’s history, essential core components for accurate implementation, key discoveries, and supporting evidence. It also clarifies common misconceptions and addresses legitimate criticisms of the system.
