Abstract
Cyber insurance is a risk transfer mechanism that mitigates the adverse effects of cybersecurity incidents, including acts of cybercrime. It offers coverage for a broad range of consequences resulting from cyberattacks, protecting organisations and, increasingly, to individuals. This functions like how home or auto insurance covers losses related to damage or theft involving personal property; in this case, it is for cyber-related incidents.
