Abstract
Back in 2020, the statue of Edward Colston in Bristol was toppled and later thrown in the dock, triggering a national conversation about what to do with the statues and monuments of slave owners. Maria Ridda and Ben Worthy trace how local councils took action in decolonising public spaces.
