Abstract

This article provides an introduction to ‘chemsex’ and chemsex related support services. Chemsex definitions and prevalence are described, alongside the response from services so far. Theoretical understandings and empirical findings so far are discussed alongside presenting some of the main issues currently for services. The involvement of Clinical Psychologists (both in specialist and non-specialist settings) is considered. Finally, a practice example of one of the services developed in London is outlined, and recommendations for clinicians provided.
