Abstract
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, universities around the world urgently suspended face-to-face classes, imposing mandated temporary closures of campuses, and required all teachers and students to convert traditional face-to-face classrooms to online screen-to-screen classes. This global ongoing crisis has created unsettled feelings, resulting in both positive and negative emotional reactions among teachers and students. While current research has been focusing on the new technological pedagogies and the rise of blended learning during and post-COVID, good classroom practices have not been presented clearly to maintain student engagement and teacher-student interactions. This study offers insights into this area, highlighting the strategies that a group of Vietnamese university teachers utilized to support their students’ learning in the new normal. The lessons learned are hoped to be useful and applicable to a wide range of instructors of different levels.
