Abstract
A Heroine Untold is a contemporary novel written in the historiographic metafictional style. The aim of this project is to write a contemporary novel that draws on history, philosophy, anthropology, ethnology, cultural geography and natural history. This project also has historical significance: while there are numerous novels set in 20th-century Cyprus, mostly related to Greek-Turkish relations, there has been no novel set in 19th-century Cyprus related to the British annexation of the island. As the book also involves travel writing, the character of the island is presented both ethnographically and geographically.
