Abstract

Genetic modi®cation (GM) is a radical new technology that could potentially change and challenge world agriculture, economic and regulatory systems. This paper looks at

such issues, with particular respect to their impact in developing countries, and provides some policy recommendations to help ensure that GM technology helps rather than hinders economic development and welfare in the developing world
