Abstract
The Si-29 isotropic chemical shift of sialon X-phase (Si3Al6O12N2) is reported unequivocally for the first time. The implications of the Si-29 and Al-27 magic-angle spinning (MAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra for atomic ordering within X-phase are discussed.
