Abstract
Impact of the Feelgood Factory Toning Suite was assessed using the Ageless Thanet questionnaire. Data were collected at two time points- before the first session and again after 1 month (when the free toning suite pass ended). The data discussed in this report were collected between July 2015 and September 2019.
The primary outcomes of interest were loneliness and social isolation. Secondary outcomes were quality of life and mental health and wellbeing. Data were collated and analysed using a number of statistical techniques to compare baseline responses to follow-up. Results from this analysis informed whether the activities were successful in changing levels of loneliness and social isolation (i.e., effectiveness). Both parametric and non-parametric statistical tests were performed as some data were not normally distributed (i.e. majority of responses concentrated at either the low or high end of the scale). The type of statistical test used is highlighted when discussing findings for each of the four outcomes.
