Abstract

Work was planned/led by Burchell who wrote/submitted the paper. Work started a new and growing field of studies of microbial survival in high speed impacts, relevant to survival of life on meteorites which can transfer between planets (e.g. stimulated new work at CalTech, US and in Europe).
