Abstract

The health status of this group is not well documented and there is a lack of robust evidence.

However there is fragmentary data on life expectancy being lower than average and stillbirths, perinatal and infant mortality and Sudden Infant Death Syndrome being higher than average.

There is also evidence of high levels of anxiety and depression. Poverty and low socio-economic position have a major effect on Gypsy Traveller population’s health.
