Abstract

A discussion of Picasso's 1948 quasi-abstract painting 'The Kitchen', discussing it's commemorative and political connotations as a monument to Apollinaire and a response to Picasso's recent visit to Warsaw and Auschwitz. Written for the official Picasso Administration website, this text also made available in French and Spanish.
