Abstract
The clinical effectiveness and Evaluation Unit of the Royal College of Physicians of London is in the process of identifying quality outcome indicators for continence services, using national expert panel groups of professionals. Given the importance currently placed on user involvement in service development (DoH 2001), there is a need to involve users with continence problems in determining whether current standards reflect consumer opinion and need, and to incorporate their views into future developments.
